Happy New Year 2020!

Hello Friends and Happy New Year! I hope this new year will bring health, joy and peace to you and yours. I thought it would be fun to share my New Year Canon with you as you prepare to return to school and see the kiddos. This is from my revised and expanded book "Once A Round: 26 Rounds For Young & Intermediate Voices". Have fun!

SUGGESTIONS

-Practice swaying, turning, rocking and waltzing in 3/4 time. Emphasize the first beat of the measure
-Use body percussion to create beat patterns in 3/4 time: pat-snap-snap, etc.
-Make up a hand clapping game to accompany the song with a friend.
-Transfer body percussion patterns and hand clapping game to unpitched instruments.
-Create a B section by improvising with recorder or another melody instrument in F pentatonic.
-BM/CBB tremelo on F (no other parts) while students read their New Year's resolutions or favorite memories from the past year.
